Organised by Business China, with the support of our Strategic Partner, Enterprise Singapore, the Business China Advanced Leaders Programme 2021 is an apex programme targeting senior public officers and next generation business leaders. The programme provides a holistic understanding of the latest developments in China’s economy, politics and shifts in social paradigms, as well as Chinese cultural appreciation.
For the first segment of the programme in 2021, participants will delve deep and be exposed to insights about China. In the second segment, participants will visit key technology and innovation companies in the Yangtze River Delta Economic Zone in April. The programme will conclude with participants visiting leading companies in Indonesia in May. During the visits, participants will have the opportunity to meet senior government officials and local business leaders. The delegation will be led by a senior official from the Singapore government.
The Yangtze River Delta Economic Zone is an economic region in China that encompasses Shanghai municipality, Jiangsu, Anhui and Zhejiang province. The region accounts for 20 percent of China's GDP and is responsible for one third of its imports and exports. Surrounding Shanghai, cities such as Nanjing, Suzhou, Hangzhou and Ningbo are also major economic hubs in China and are home to mature industrial zones with a diverse portfolio of industries.
Indonesia has the largest economy in Southeast Asia and is one of the emerging market economies of the world. The country is also a member of G20 and classified as a newly industrialised country. No stranger to the tech scene, Indonesia is also home to thousands of startups and tech unicorns such as GoJek and Traveloka.
This programme is in line with Business China’s mission and vision in supporting Singapore-based businesses and public service in grooming future leaders that are “Singapore-China-savvy”.
